A little bit about combat operations...
What is Combat Operations?
Combat Operations is a modern day 3D 1st/ 3rd person shooter game based on the windows game counter-strike. When I saw there was no version for Mac i decided to make one and give mac users a chance to play a great game
What is the aim of Combat Operations?
To create a fun online multiplayer game with lots of maps, weapons and lots of quality play involved for mac computers. And after would go on to cross-platforming it and selling the game for a small profit
What engine is Combat Operations using?
Combat operations will have lots of demo versions available to members only for testing for bugs and suggestions. the first demo will be using the dim3 engine just to show the weapons and a little bit what it will be like, after that demo has been fully checked i will release it publicly for everyone to use. The second demo version will be using the Torque Game Engine from garagegames.com. Future demo versions will be using the TGE and the final product that will be cross-platformed and sold will be using the TGE too.
Why the Torque Game Engine?
I am using the TGE mainly because of it's value, at $100 its incredibly good value and it has so much packed into the engine with lots of small engines clubbing together to make the TGE. I was using the dim3 engine but i found it very limitive to what you could do but a appreciate greatly the engine. as it's a 1person project im very impressed by the engine. anyway getting back on topic, the TGE supports so much for its price. Torque has all the following qualities
